Barry Jenkins’ film adaptation of the novel If Beale Street Could Talk.

The Moonlight filmmaker began penning the screenplay to turn his favorite

James Baldwin book, first published in 1974, into a movie in the summer of 2013, and in July (17), the

Oscar winner announced his project had officially won the backing of the late writer’s estate officials.
