Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was reportedly involved in an altercation at a Dallas bar Sunday night.
The Dallas Morning News’ Jon Machota reports that a source confirms Elliott, who is facing a possible suspension over claims he assaulted an Ohio woman last year, was involved in an incident that led to a bouncer getting punched at Clutch in uptown Dallas.

Dallas police released vague details of the incident, noting that the disturbance occurred around 9:40 p.m. Sunday and that the victim was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, who didn’t identify Elliott in its report, no arrests were made and no suspects were listed on the police report. The news was first reported by 105.3 The Fan sports talk host Mike Fisher, who dubbed the incident some “not pleasant Cowboys news.”
Late Monday morning, TMZ Sports released video from inside the club moments after the altercation. It shows the alleged victim lying on the floor and holding his nose before being taken to an ambulance.
An NFL official told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the league is aware of the situation involving Elliott and “looking into it to understand the facts.”
ESPN reported last week that Elliott could face a one- or two-game suspension as the NFL wraps up its investigation over claims of domestic violence made by his former girlfriend. Prosecutors in Ohio decided against bring criminal charges against Elliott, but the NFL could still punish him for behavior that the league deems inappropriate.
Elliott told the Fort-Worth Star Telegram back in January that he was unhappy that the NFL’s investigation was taking so long.
“I do want closure,” Elliott said. “I do. I would rather them not drag it on as long. I think if there was something to find, which there’s not, they would’ve found it by now. The police did a very thorough investigation.”
Elliott’s short tenure with the Cowboys have been marked by several off-field incidents.
In March, Elliott was caught on a video posted on TMZ exposing a woman’s breast during a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dallas. A representative for Elliott said the woman (who is seen later in the video flashing the crowd herself) was not upset, and the two hung out after the parade.
Elliott was seen in another TMZ video in February speaking to police officers in an Ohio bar after a friend was arrested for bringing in a loaded gun. Elliott was not detained or charged with any wrongdoing in the incident.
Elliott interacted with police again at a bar in February, when he spoke with officers who were arresting a friend, according to TMZ. Elliott was not accused of any wrongdoing.
Elliott was also spotted at a marijuana dispensary in Seattle last summer before the team’s first preseason game, which angered Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
“In general, while it may not be wrong, it’s just not good,” Jones said of Elliott’s visit. “I don’t want to say any more.”
The Eagles don’t play the Cowboys until Week 11, when the two will face off at AT&T Stadium on Sunday Night Football.Read more by
