Crystal River Man Wins $5 Million In Mega Millions Drawing

A Crystal River man has claimed a $5 million prize in the Mega Millions drawing on April 28, Florida Lottery officials said.

Darrell Patrick, 43, matched the five white ball numbers (22-27-55-58-63) but not the Mega Ball (11), which pays $1 million. However, Patrick paid $1 to apply the game’s Megaplier of 5, multiplying his non-jackpot prize $5 million, lottery officials said.

He may choose a lump-sum option or annual payout

Patrick purchased the $1 ticket from Kwik Stop, 118 N.W. U.S. 19 in Crystal River.

The store received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot, which has increased to an estimate $126 million for tonight’s drawing. Mega Millions is a multi-state game.

By law, Florida is required to identify the winners of lottery jackpots.
