FIFA 17 Mobile For Windows 10 Mobile Is Now Available To Play

EA takes its rights for using the FIFA trademark very seriously – FIFA 17 works on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and the latter three versions use EA’s flagship Frostbite engine developed by DICE.

What EA also makes is FIFA Mobile, and with FIFA 17 we have a new version of FIFA Mobile to appreciate. FIFA 17 Mobile is an incredibly rich experience – you essentially have most of the FIFA game, albeit with worse visuals; however, EA does ‘sell’ it as a free-to-play game.

The reason we say ‘sell’ – despite the free to play nature of it – is because the game follows the standard model: micro transactions are how EA will make money. The game has timed-gates, and you have to pay your way out of them if you lack the patience for a random timer to run out.

If you can deal with that, the game will offer you access to exclusive football data from FIFA, with 30 leagues, 650 real teams, 17,000 real football players, and let you manage and build your own Ultimate Team with touch-controls and all the fancy things.

Oddly enough, the game does not come with Xbox integration, even though previous FIFA Mobile releases have had Xbox integration. There are also a whole bunch of reviews on the game’s store page talking about severe crashing and other issues. Apparently, EA has once again released a game that wasn’t quite ready for prime time.

It is a free game, though – you can give it a shot without spending a dime; the game is available right now on the Windows Store. Along with the FIFA 17 Companion app that came out two weeks ago on the Windows Store, EA sure is dropping a lot of love for the mobile users who would love to play some FIFA on the go.
