Marquez is a further 47 points back after achieving successive victories for the first time this season.

There were wet conditions for the Moto3 and Moto2 races earlier in the day but the rain clouds had largely passed by the time the MotoGP riders took to the grid and it remained dry throughout the race.

Lorenzo led into the first corner from pole man Marquez and the pair soon broke away from the rest of the field, opening up a second gap by the end of lap eight.
