Mom Charged With Meriden Boy's Death To Remain In N.C. As Case Continues

Karin Ziolkowski, charged with killing her 8-year-old son and setting their home ablaze with tiki torch fuel, could remain in North Carolina for at least another month.

Court officials in North Carolina said her case was continued until Nov. 16. She remains held on $1 million bond at a county jail, records show.

Ziolkowski, 41, appeared in court in Gaston County, N.C., on Monday and she requested a court-appointed attorney for the extradition process, the Gaston Gazette reported.

Her arrest on Friday by police in her new home of Bessemer City, N.C., came nearly 11 months after 8-year-old Elijah Ziolkowski was killed and the David Street home was set on fire on Nov. 14.
