SPOKANE, Wash. - Firefighters aren't the only ones keeping busy in the heat. SCRAPS officers are also working hard in the high temperatures. "SCRAPS receives numerous calls per day regarding dogs and cats in hot cars," said SCRAPS Animal Protection Officer Justin Korpi. It may seem like common sense to keep your pet out of a hot car. Korpi says even leaving your pet in the car for a short period while running errands can be dangerous.
