A man suspected of fatally shooting one man and injuring two others early Thursday at a motel in Daytona Beach has been arrested, police said.
Marcus Pinckney was arrested at a motel in Ormond Beach hours after the shooting.
When authorities arrested him, they said they told Pinckney two of the three individuals survived the shooting.
Pinckney allegedly responded, "They're not dead?"
"In my mind that means he wanted them dead," Chief Capri said.
Officials with the Daytona Beach Police Department said the shooting was reported around 2:15 a.m. at the Sun Plaza Motel on Ridgewood Avenue.
A 57-year-old man died at the scene and two others were taken to Halifax Hospital for treatment.
"The deceased male and one of the injured males, are father and son. The third male may be partially blind," Daytona Beach spokeswoman Lyda Longa said.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Investigators said the gunman knew the victims and the shooting was not a random act. Authorities believe the shooting was driven by revenge over drugs.
Police released surveillance video from the motel that shows a man they said is Pinckney get out of a car and open fire on the three men.
"He's just a street thug that has no regard for human life, as you've seen in the video. Almost like an execution if you want to call it," Daytona Beach police Chief Craig Capri said.
Police said Pinckney had previously kidnapped his current girlfriend, allegedly kept her tied up in his car while he was at the murder scene.
Police said the suspect let her go but then called an ex-girlfriend and wound up at the Ormond Beach motel where he was captured.
