Florida Strawberry Festival


The annual Florida Strawberry Festival is 10 a.m.-10 p.m. through March 11 in Plant City. The festival is an 11-day community event celebrating the strawberry harvest of Eastern Hillsborough County. Each year, over 500,000 visitors enjoy the festival’s headline entertainment, youth livestock shows, rides, exhibits of commerce and its strawberry shortcake. Headline entertainment includes country stars such as Big & Rich featuring Cowboy Troy, Lee Greenwood, Reba McEntire, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley and more. Tickets for headline entertainers are not included in gate admission, which is $10 adults, $5 children ages 6-12. The Service Club of Manatee 53rd Charity Antiques Sale & Vintage Market is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 10 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. March 11 at Bradenton Area Convention Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto. More than 45 vendors will feature items include sterling silver, fine china, jewelry, glassware, rugs, furniture, Americana, vintage clothing, postcards, quilts and much more. An opening night soiree is 5:30-9 p.m. March 9. Admission is $7 for the market and $50-$60 for the opening night event. 41st annual RealRail Model Train Show

The RealRail Model Train Show is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 10 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 11 at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto. There will be a hobby mart with more than 150 tables of railroading and model railroading merchandise. Admission is $8 adults. Children age 13 and younger free with paid adult. 941-504-2474.

Holmes Beach Art Walk

Downtown Holmes Beach continues its annual series of ArtWalks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 9. Participating art galleries and retail businesses include Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club, Restless Natives, Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island, The Anna Maria Island Art League, Island Gallery West, and SteamDesigns. These locations will feature special exhibits, free refreshments, music and fun for all those who enjoy strolling and shopping in downtown Holmes Beach.

Polo match

There are public polo matches every Sunday through April 5 at the Sarasota Polo Club, 8201 Polo Club Lane, Lakewood Ranch. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the match is at 1 p.m. There are also matches at 3 p.m. on the last Friday of the month. Admission is $12 per person. Children age 12 and younger admitted free. Beach Markets at Coquina Beach
