Sebastian Vettel may be on the brink of winning his fourth consecutive world title, but the German is seemingly leaving nothing to chance to ensure he does not get caught out by a rival.

Rather than tucking into Japan's local cuisine and enjoying some sushi, German newspaper Bild reports that he will avoid sushi for fear that it could have been contaminated by the leak at the Fukushima nuclear plant.

According to GrandPrix.com, a spokesman for Vettel, when asked about his diet in Japan, said: "We are taking absolutely no risks."

While it may sound over-cautious, the subject of eating Japanese seafood has been discussed in publications before, such as this 2012 piece by ABC.

And if nothing else, it gave Bild the chance to do the brilliantly over-the-top piece of Photoshop work you can see above.
